Sample Sexual Harassment Policy

Agency X’s position is that all employees be responsible for ensuring that the workplace is free

from sexual harassment.

Agency X strongly disapproves of offensive or inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace and

requires that all employees avoid any action or conduct that could be viewed as sexual

harassment, including but not limited to:

• Unwelcome sexual advances

• Requests for sexual acts or favors

• Other verbal or physical conduct of a harassing nature that has sexual overtones

Any employee who has a complaint of sexual harassment at work by anyone, including

supervisors, coworkers, or visitors, must bring the problem to the attention of his or her immediate

supervisor or the executive director. If the complaint involves someone in the employee’s direct

chain of command, then the employee may go to another supervisor, the executive director, or

the chairperson of the personnel committee.

All complaints will be promptly investigated in a discreet manner that ensures privacy and
complete confidentiality of both charging and accusing parties.

Agency X will retain confidential documentation of all allegations in investigations and will take
appropriate corrective actions, including disciplinary measures, when justified to remedy all
violations of this policy.
